Spirit in the Sky

Spirit in the Sky

(10 shots) | Inside the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán was a museum with artifacts from Monte Albán. To preserve these, the light was so low that it was hardly possible to take a shot. So I focused on the church.

For those who haven’t seen this one yet: I once did a funny post on TriPod-alternatives. The one, I named ‘The BlasphemoPod’, was taken in this church.

When the days are getting shorter and the temperature is going down, I sometimes get caught by nostalgia. Not depressingly heavy, but enough to make me go through older photo’s of nice travels in warm summertimes. That’s how I ended up in Sweden 2009; and a lot of trees. I might as well show some more.
We drove to Kiel; and after a night on one of those terrible cruise-ferries, we reached Göteborg. We had to do a booze-test, before we were allowed to drive into Sweden, for our first destination: Kopparberg. (somewhere in the middle, above Örebro). We had arranged a self-drive-trip, so 4 km. above Kopparberg we were expected by some nice people who gave us the key to cottage nr. 21.

In Kopparberg we visited the ‘Tingshus’, which means something like ‘court of justice’. I liked the wooden skin; my daughter had seen it all quite quick.

There was a really nice church; with the same ‘skin’ and colors as the Tingshus; and a lot of wood on the inside.

This window is actually in the floor of a former church; now an archive in Haarlem. It gives a view in the old basement with some sculls for the excitement; and it somehow multi-reflexes the church interior.
