For me, Minimal is reducing the chaotic outside world to silent, simple moments. Less is more. As in Abstract and Essence it is a matter of isolation; but the difference is that Minimal focuses on the things in the outside world as they appear to our senses. It’s about ‘how’ they are.

Minimal is, voor mij, het terugbrengen van de chaotische werkelijkheid tot verstilde momenten. Minder is meer. De overeenkomst met Abstract is, dat ook hier door isolatie wordt gezocht naar een autonoom beeld dat van zichzelf een schone compositie is. Het verschil is, dat het hier juist wel gaat om de zaken uit de objectieve realiteit. Anders dan bij Essentie gaat het hier niet zozeer om ‘wat iets is’, maar om ‘hoe iets is’. Gewoon even een moment stil staan bij een klein stukje wereld.
