Aekingerzand, Kale Duinen
Aekingerzand, or ‘Kale Duinen’ (Naked Dunes) is one of our sand-drift-heathlands; and it is part of ‘Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold’. It’s in the north of the Netherlands on the border of the provinces Drenthe ‘and Friesland just under a town called Appelscha. It’s protected nature. Good for walking. I liked the strange feeling of a ‘beach without a sea’.
Fochteloërveen
The shots of the last few days are from a moorland area called Fochteloërveen. It’s in the north of the Netherlands on the border of the provinces Drenthe and Friesland just under a town called Veenhuizen. It’s one of our best preserved moorlands and protected nature. I liked the wide, monotone views; the colours; the water; and the fog of that day made it even more mysterious.

It’s the Barranco of Espils. Last year I climbed down there for the first time. Beautiful. This year I went down with my son. We had too find our way in the unknown and had some tricky moments; but once the water was reached, down in the barranco, things got relaxed.
