Next day was the start of a trip to the North. In the first shot, my three companions. Björn of course; his friend Francis in the black T-shirt; and in the green shirt Sam; a friend of Francis; but soon we were just four friends :). The first shot is just before we started our trip; and just after a good breakfast. Food became one of our main subjects; something a Dutch Potato Eater like me had to get used to in the beginning. I had less trouble with our second main subject; also shown in the first shot: no beer.. The third main subject was photography; so let me introduce the one and only: LeicaMan.

Our first stop was at this restaurant, where we had lunch with Mr. Yew Poh Chong, the Executive Director of YHL Trading (Kedah); a large rice-company. He was somehow related to Francis and he offered us an opportunity to photograph inside two of his rice-factories. Great!

The shoe stamp on grains is interesting.

    • It’s actually a tyre-stamp; but it looks like it’s from a shoe; and interesting anyway.
