In the afternoon we could do with a cold beer and we ended up at the ‘Junk Bar’. No needles around; just real junk. We liked the small furniture that made the beers look larger. After a few, we walked into a small alley, for some real junk…

Next day, after our trip to Thailand, we drove from Alor Setar to George Town; the capital city of Penang. The city had a fine, bit free-minded; easy going atmosphere. ‘Easy Rider’, but with the bikes from the first two shots… After a fine lunch, we visited a shop; owned by very nice people.

The last shots of Hat Yai are from a temple. We couldn’t get in, so just a few shots from the outside. In front of the temple a Mercedes was being blessed… And then it started to rain.

After a breakfast we drove North, to the border with Thailand. It was pretty crowded and it took us quite some time ‘to walk into Thailand’, where we took a taxi to the city Hat Yai. There we switched into a ‘Tuk Tuk’, that drove us to the centre.

After the unique shooting-opportunities in the rice-mills, we needed a good meal. My friends were excellent in finding that. Afterwards we ended up in the Crossover-bar, where we drank an Eifeltower… A very nice evening… Next morning, when I woke up, things looked a bit hazy but that improved a lot, when I opened the lace..

Here some shots from the 2nd rice-mill. A bit smaller; but some of the machines already looked familiar..

On our way to the next rice-factory, our driver stopped at where it all comes from, rice-fields. I liked the very intense colours.
