The Palace, the Stairs and the endless Space

(10 Shots) | The view from Palenque was great; a bit closer to the Gods. On the other side things were hidden in the Jungle.

On the walls and columns were beautiful reliefs about kings and gods and rituals and death. Some of them had almost faded. I especially liked the great unity in the way they had carved the figures and the ornaments.

The Palace had chambers a courtyard a tower and it was magic to go through because the more human scale made it possible to feel that people had lived there in those days.

  1. Amazing place and fantastic pictures; I can virtually feel the rock under my feet, the surface against my hands and the time passed by.
