Impressed Impressions of an Exhibition; Anton Corbijn.

(7 Shots) | (Short Mexico-break) | Today was the last day of the large Anton Corbijn retrospective ‘Hollands Deep’, in the ‘Gemeentemuseum’ in The Hague. An additional exhibition, called ‘1-2-3-4’, in the ‘Hague Museum of Photography’, is extended till the 16th of august. Great work! Quite a lot of his photo’s are famous; but it was special to see them ‘for real’. Feeling, atmosphere, special-characteristic moments, that is what matters in his work; technical stuff is minor, like in the music of Joy Division or Tom Waits; passion and meaning speak. I had my camera with me; but it felt silly to take shots from shots. After a while I started to shoot the exhibition and the uniqueness of all these wonderful photo’s, being together.

Excellent set of fragmented compositions which blur the line between various realities. They’re so good that I’m having a difficult time picking favourites.

  8. That certainly is an impressive exhibition, Harrie! You captured the atmosphere of it so very well, I almost felt I was there too 🙂
