The Museo Nacional de Antropología

The Museo Nacional de Antropología

(12 shots) | The next day we visited The Museo Nacional de Antropología. A huge , heavy buiding, designed in 1964. In the middle is a large patio. I rushed outside when a heavy rain came pouring down.

The Museo Nacional de Antropología “contains significant archaeological and anthropological artifacts from the pre-Columbian heritage of Mexico”. The masterpiece is the Aztec calendar stone of the sun. And of course “The exact purpose and meaning of the Calendar Stone are unclear”, so let’s keep it that way and just look…

Flat forehead Beauty

Flat forehead Beauty

It was said that a flat forehead was a ‘beauty-ideal’ in those days; small kids got a heavy, flat thing on their head, to ‘sculpt’ it that way… (I once had plastic splints, to correct my X-legs… horror). And after all that hard beauty-work, ‘this’ (next shot), could happen to your scull, when you grew up…

I liked those funny sculptures. May be Walt Disney once got inspired by them..

In the grave is so fantastic!

    • Thanks! (Actually it was way to dark for me and my 400ASA day-light-slide-film, without a tri-pod in that museum. So I made the best of it, that day; but a lot of shots are unsharp. The grave-shot goes well with the unsharpness..). See you!

    • 🙂 according to the expression of his face, he is not yet used to it.
