Iceland | Somewhere in Ólafsvík | Well designed modern church. Conceptually based on the triangle. The outside and the inside are a fine unity.

For those who haven’t seen this one yet: I once did a funny post on TriPod-alternatives. The one, I named ‘The BlasphemoPod’, was taken in this church.

I say: I really like the last one :))

    • I say: Yes, and it even fits in the concept as a triangle.. 😀

  2. Wow, great shots and some unique ~ almost bizarre ~ architectural design. Well done!

    • Thanks a lot! I like it when there is an idea behind it and that you can see and feel this in the building.

Insane geometry. Incredible amazing architechture. And you capture it so topnotch! It looks so unbelievable. Do happen to know who design it?

  4. Interesting architecture, I will say modern Nordic. And nice series of photographs.

  5. Another thing I loved about Iceland was its unusual and funky churches.

    • This was the most modern one I’ve seen. I also liked the simple, little ones, with a small cemetery around/next to them.

      • Yes, they’re very different to what we see in England and mainland Europe.

  6. Wonderful triangles. And that ceiling! The front door is an arrow. Blue pews. What more could we want? Have you been inside the “rock church” in Helsinki? I have one photo of it called “Finland Prayer.” Following now.

    • Ditto! Thanks. No, I’ve never been to Finland (yet). Found your Finland-shot. I like the use of pure natural materials in a church.
