India from Slides prt7: In the streets of Mysore

Main Street

It took me several days to get a little bit used to everything that was happening around me in those streets. In the Netherlands everything is neat arranged; secured; in line and proper. In Mysore it was a complete chaos. Every moment was a surprise. And just when I thought I’d seen it all, a couple of elephants came rushing around the corner. They were all dressed-up for a huge parade that would be performed a few days later. The elephants were out to get used to the street-noises and the people, to prevent them from panicking during the parade.

  1. Interestingly, when I look at the photos, I ‘see’/feel stillness….
I like the chosen b&w color that’s not quite black. Really brings out the photo and feel of journeys from back in the days, when there was no camera….

    • Thank you, Hanne. The old slides look ‘old’ because they are; and I enhance that a little to make them ‘memories’.

  2. You are never the same you when you return from travel abroad. You feel expanded and new. LOve the description in this.

    • Thanks, Noelle. You’re right; this was a real brainwash πŸ™‚

  5. You took some great slides Harrie, so redolent of time and place in so many different ways.
