Once upon an Ocean

Once upon an Ocean | Nikon D700 | Nikkor 24-70mm. f/2.8G ED | 24mm. | 1/500 | F7.1 | ISO 400

The tittle I just nicked from Kevin Ayers who dropped by on my I-Tunes. This shot was taken in 2010 when I was on a trip to Iceland with a few good friends. It was our first day; in Reykjavik. We took a walk and ended up in a harbour. With “Etched by life” big and beautiful.

  1. hello Harrie, from all your 3 images , I like these the most; The composition suits with the image size. The rust and it color are very expressive with a perfect depth; Such kind of work , I recognize to be yours. I love to observe all the details . what is a bit confusing me is that every time I look , i see number 115. This is a eye catcher and distracts me a lttle when I was looking at the ladders , windows , stairs , antenna. …. In the other number 116 is not disturbing at all , because it is a bit covered;

    Hi Bart. Thanks for liking. About the 115: I didn’t notice it till now. For me it’s a matter of mind at the moment. The rational brain has grabbed the black-on-white 115; and the rest is more emotional. May be that makes it a bit distracting. For the fun I have tried to frame a part of the 115 away; but that didn’t do any good to the rest (to narrow; or too much loss of headroom). So, lets hope that in a few years the 115 will be rusted into the composition.
